350VT
March 2,2023
Friends --
Today, children, youth, parents, elders and other constituents working with 350VT delivered over 1,700 postcards—collected and signed by Vermonters across our state—asking our legislature to take bold action now. We were joined by Representatives Mari Cordes and Caleb Elder.
These postcards are meant to let legislators know what their constituents want: a transition to clean energy that is effective and fair, that upholds our values and considers the needs of all Vermonters.

350VT Just Transition
2022 and 2023 Asks of Policy Makers:
Solutions are aligned with the Just Transition principles developed by the Vermont Climate Council's Just Transitions Subcommittee
Take into account all greenhouse gas emissions accurately to ensure our actions are impactful and proportional to the scale of the crisis (including out of state emissions and methane from Hydro-Quebec)
Include a 10-year mass weatherization program for Vermont’s housing stock, and prioritizes the needs of low-income and BIPOC communities
Develop public transportation systems in urban center and along major transportation corridors that meet the needs of rural and low-income populations
Provide access and resources to farmers who want to practice regenerative agriculture, prioritizing BIPOC farmers first
Not rely on false solutions like “Renewable” Natural Gas and Biofuels
Incentivizes Just Transition renewable energy solutions like net-metering, community solar, and solar incentives, heat pumps and geothermal technology prioritizing low-income and BIPOC communities
Keeps and puts carbon back in the ground by protecting ecosystems, preventing Vermont State Lands and the Green Mountain National Forest from large-scale logging, and stops rural sprawl.
Creates a fair and bold funding mechanism that doesn’t pass on the costs of this transition to future generations
